Through the lens of three different yet similar themes, I.M. Pei's Suzhou Museum (2006) was analysed to explore the formal qualities and psychological impacts that buildings have on visitors. It can be revealed that the intricacies of modernist architecture have been influenced by Enlightenment thinking.
