Individual Work
A new generation boarding house accommodation for older women is designed with self-contained studio dwellings. The interplay between public and private spaces is crucial for the disadvantaged residents; giving the choices to the women about the way they live empowers them daily, which is pivotal to this design. The older women would achieve comfort within their own units, but also by creating a community within this housing complex. Nature surrounds the site and is fully accessible to provide improved health and wellbeing for the women. The main theme for the design is based around the 10 design principles underlying the proposal.
