Student accommodations are a place for leisure and comfort whilst studying at university. They should be a haven and improve the wellbeing of the students through the amenities and lifestyle provided by the accommodation. The principle of a ‘community’ is important for knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst residents.
Any new architecture must respond to the history whilst also being a gateway building which signals the USYD campus.
The integration of planning, architectural, technical, functional and construction requirements are compulsory to ensure a unified design proposal is conformed to on an university campus.
